A peaceful adult-only campsite, Rodney Stoke's rural location provides the perfect base from which to explore Cheddar and everything that the beautiful Somerset countryside has to offer.

Cheddar Gorge and Caves
An international centre for caving and rock climbing, Cheddar Gorge and Caves are less than 3 miles from our campsite, offering numerous attractions including cliff-top walks, rock climbing and the Museum of Pre-history.
At 400ft deep and 3 miles long, the Gorge is one of Britain's most spectacular natural landmarks - and areas of the mysterious caves are over 500,000 years old!
With over 20 different attractions, Cheddar Gorge and Caves are definitely worth a visit!
Cheddar Walking
The 4-mile circular Gorge Walk offers spectacular views, plus the chance to encounter some local wildlife including feral Soay sheep, jackdaws, buzzards and ravens.
And there are plenty of lesser-known walking trails (of varying difficulties) to tackle - here's a list
to get you started.
Tynings Trekking Centre
Book a day ride at Tynings Trekking Centre in nearby Blagdon and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Mendip Hills, Blackdown and the surrounding forests.
Beginners can enjoy hourly or ninety-minute rides, or if you're a more experienced rider, a six hour day ride might suit you better.
Cheddar Watersports
Spend a day on the water and enjoy a variety of taster sessions from qualified instructors at Cheddar Reservoir.
The Bristol Corinthian Yacht Club is a recognised Training Centre and Champion Club certified by the Royal Yachting Association, the governing body for sailing in the UK.
Activities include kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, windsurfing and sailing, and are suitable for adults and children.
Places and equipment are limited so we would advise that you book in advance.
The Original Cheddar Cheese Company
Strictly speaking, this may not be an outdoor activity, but what trip to Cheddar would be complete with sampling some delicious Cheddar Cheese! And what better place to do just that than the world-famous Original Cheddar Cheese Company. Established in 1870, the café and shop can be found at the foot of beautiful cliffs in the heart of the renowned Cheddar Gorge and Mendip Caves. The river Yeo's clear icy waters run directly beneath, providing a stunning setting to enjoy your spoils!
