Should I buy a Static Caravan?

July 29, 2018

Enjoy the benefits of owning a Static Caravan

Renting a static caravan can be a fantastic money saving option for families to enjoy a great value holiday in the UK. But rather than renting, have you ever thought about buying one of your own?

With the uncertainty of Brexit and the current economic climate it’s no surprise that more and more Brits are deciding to enjoy ‘staycations’ and explore the many attractions that the UK has to offer. If you find yourself returning to the same area or even the same holiday park year after year it may be worth investing in a holiday home of your own. Here are our top reasons why;
Convenience
We offer static caravans and holiday lodges for sale at 5 of our holiday parks with seasons ranging from 11-12 months. Our visitors are able to enjoy their holiday homes throughout the year without the stress or hassle of trying to book last minute accommodation. Static owners are free to come and go as they please so there’s no need to plan your trip weeks in advance – simply pack a bag and travel at your own convenience.
Comfort
Our holiday homes are available in an almost infinite variety of styles and layouts. All newer models come with central heating, double glazing and extra insulation so you can be as comfortable in your holiday home during the winter months as you are during spring and summer.
New units are equipped with everything that you might find in your own home including electrical and white goods - and there’s also the added bonus of having a toilet that is connected to the mains, so no more inconvenient visits to the Elsan Point!
Cost
We offer ‘ground rent’ on our parks from as little as £2,500 per season (July 2018) - that works out at just £48 per week, a fraction of the cost of many touring parks not to mention any hotel or B&B!

And the initial out-lay may not be as much as you think, many pre-owned statics can be purchased in ‘like new’ condition to suit those on a lower budget.
Space - The average static caravan is a ‘roomy’ 35x12ft, considerably larger than most touring caravans (and even some hotel rooms!) with lodges reaching a whopping 40x20ft, so there’s plenty of room for the whole family to enjoy without getting under each others feet.

Most statics come with a 2-bedroom layout (a real plus at bed time) and many units also feature a pull-out bed in the lounge area, that’s sleeping space for up to 6 people!

Most models can also be fitted with decking, so as well as all of that indoor space to enjoy, you can also secure your own piece of the outdoors.
Community
Our holiday parks tend to attract like-minded people - and staying in such close proximity to each other our static owners get to know each other. There’s always a familiar face to ask for a helping-hand should you need it.

So, if you’re looking for convenience and comfort without compromising on space then purchasing a static caravan or holiday lodge may well be a cost-effective solution for you and your family to enjoy your holidays together.

This award recognises holiday parks, sites and villages that provide exceptional guest experiences across static vans, touring pitches and more with a wide range of facilities and entertainment. Marketing Executive, Kim Boyd, was also named Unsung Hero . The Unsung Hero Award recognises an individual working for a tourism business who excels in their role and deserves to be applauded for their work and commitment to the industry. Awards Director Nell Barrington said “For many it has been a really challenging year but tonight was all about celebration and recognising those businesses who go above and beyond every day to ensure every visitor has a fantastic, truly memorable experience. It is great that they get recognition for all their efforts and my sincere congratulations go to them for everything they do to put Bristol, Bath, Somerset and beyond on the map.” Giles Adams from VisitSomerset continued “I am delighted that the core ethos and hard work of Somerset tourism businesses is continuously recognised. Our county is all about authenticity and giving value for money. The awards help to ensure that our consumers understand and value what we all represent by recognising and rewarding our quality offer.” Kathryn Davis from VisitWest told us “We are thrilled that so many of our businesses have been rewarded for all their incredible achievements this year with their success at the awards and look forward to seeing some of our winners hopefully progress into the national Visit England for Excellence finals next year. We have so many iconic destinations and world class experiences in the region, it is important to remember to celebrate this, and that tourism doesn’t just happen. It is thanks to the investment, creativity and hard work of these businesses that make our visitor economy so valuable, worth more than £2.5bn just to the West of England. While this sector is largely made up of many small businesses, together they are incredibly powerful and thoroughly deserve the recognition received this evening.” We would like to thank our visitors, supporters and all of our fantastic team for your support.
